The last day of our vacation we took pictures on Nana Marci's special bench...she bought it on a trip back from visiting her parents in Idaho. What a great family photo in Papa Will & Nana Marci's backyard. Perhaps another family photo on the bench next year :)
The girls love to help Papa with his chores...today they took turns driving his riding lawn mower. Looks like all 3 of them are having fun :)And Gracie impressed us all by steering all by herself :)
Kris & I enjoyed one of our favorite passtimes...wine tasting together :) This year we visited a few new places but of course went back to a few of our favorites too. This photo was taken at one of our favorite vineyards in Dundee Hills. Cheers to you with a glass of Pinot Noir :) We'll definitely be back next year too!!!
Today we spent the day at the Enchanted Forest Theme Park. First we enjoyed seeing several of our favorite nursey rhymes come to life along storybook lane. This year Gracie was very intrigued with the nursery rhyme Hansel & Gretel. She especially loved the gingerbread house built out of some of her favorite candy. But she couldn't quite understand why the witch put Hansel in a cage & was trying to coax Gretel into the oven :) We then made our way to the amusement park rides where we all had loads of fun. Josie's smile on the frog hopper was priceless. And we learned that both girls love rides that move fast just like their mommy!!!
Today we enjoyed a little family competition & went miniature golfing!!! Gracie picked the red golf club & golf ball because it was the closest color they had to pink :) Josie picked the yellow set because as she would say "Princess Belle wears yellow!!!" And with those decisions made, we were ready to golf!!! Gracie was hitting the ball pretty well as long as she remembered to hold her golf club the right way :) Josie was very interested at first...then lost interest a little bit...but after a quick snack, her interest peaked again & she joined us for the back nine. We didn't announce a winner :) but the girls did celebrate with ice cream!!! Already looking forward to our next put put outing!!!
Next stop: D'Sands in Lincoln City for an overnight family adventure & where Gracie flew her first kite :) She has been talking about flying a kite ever since our vacation last year where she saw kids flying kites on the beach. So this was her year & she did great!!! Thankfully there was a very low wind so as long as she was running fast with her kite she & the kite soured high!!! I can't wait to see her & Josie flying kites high in the sky next year :)
We spent a fun-filled day at the Oregon Coast. First stop...Nye Beach where the girls ran directly to the Pacific Ocean. They enjoyed getting their toes wet (as well as knee deep in their dresses too) as they splashed in the water & waves. We also enjoyed lunch at our favorite spot...The Chowder Bowl before heading to The Punchbowl for more fun in the sun & sand :) More vacation fun!!!
Josie went to her first movie today...Winnie The Pooh!!! She absolutely loved the movie as did Winne, Tiger, Piglet etc. as they came too (thanks to the stuffed animals Nana Marci bought her :) Her M&M's were tasty too as was the $4 dollar water cup with a lid that we bought & then had to fill up at the water fountain?!?!?! Still not sure about that one but it was the best water she ever had :)
Team Rothleutner Vs. Team Rothleutner...family paddle boating race :) Despite Gracie losing her flip flop 10 seconds into our adventure (thanks Papa Will for retrieving it so quickly!!!) we enjoyed a fun family day on Waverly Pond. Followed by feeding the ducks & enjoying a picnic lunch by the pond. Another fun family tradition :)
One of our vacation traditions is to go the Corvallis Farmer's Market. The girls enjoy walking around & sampling anything that looks good :) While we were scoping out the best fruits & veggies, the girls were enjoying CHOCOLATE DONUTS!!! And as you can see they were oh so yummy!!! See you next year chocolate donut vender!!!
Today we are Oregon Bound for a 10 day family vacation to visit Nana Marci & Papa Will. The girls were very excited for vacation & to use their new princess suitcases... an early birthday present :) And we were very impressed with how well they traveled across the spacious Chicago O'Hare Airport with their suitcases in tow. They are quite the little jet setters :) Family fun here we come...
Sunday sunny skies is the perfect day for a POOL PARTY!!! And the girls were very excited to set up the backyard with our pool & all our water toys. The highlights were our new dancing water princess "Sleeping Beauty"...she twirls on the water. And momma duck & her little duckies were a favorite too. The girls enjoyed teaching them how to swim :) And of course a pool party is not complete without some squirt guns. Luckily Kris & I were not the target :) A great ending to a perfect weekend. We are loving summer!!!
Today the weather was absolutely perfect for a day at the beach with cousin Zoey. So we were very excited to be invited to the Lake Forest Beach for some fun in the sun!!! The girls enjoyed a picnic lunch & lots of splashing in the water. And of course the day would not be complete without working together on a sand castle :) The day ended with a special treat...rainbow blowpops...yummy!!!
Our lil' kickers are taking soccer this summer & they are loving it!!! Gracie has been taking soccer since she was 2 years old so she is an old pro :) This is Josie's first year & she is getting all kinds of pointers from her big sister. Number one rule: NO HANDS!!! Josie understands the rule but she still likes to use her hands to line the ball up "just right" for the perfect kick into the goal. But boy does she like to kick the ball :)Such a fun summer sport.
