Gracie & Lucy

Lately Gracie has been asking us if she can get a dog :) So when her teacher asked her class to bring in a photo of their pet or a pet they wanted to have she was very excited to bring in a photo of a dog. Every day she has been coming home & talking about the different pets that you could have...fish, cat, dog, horse etc. And all the responsiblities that go along with having a pet. But she has been very clear that she would LIKE a dog. When we were shopping the other day she found this adorable baby golden retriever. She really wanted to bring it home as her pet. Hmm...maybe this cute little dog will satisfy her desire...so mommy bought it for her :) She named her Lucy & she is now a part of our family. Gracie takes her almost everywhere she goes & mommy & Josie get to take care of her when she's at school. She will even tell me what to feed her. She sleeps with her too & when we go in to check on her at night they are cuddled up together. I have to say it's quite cute!!! Ahhh...Gracie & Lucy are BFF's!!! And for now she is content :)

Josie...Future Lead Singer

Josie loves to sing, dance & perform for anyone that will watch her. One of her favorite songs to sing is the Abc's. Tonight she used her new trumpret as a microphone. Looks like she's taking after her mommy with a solo on the microphone :) Be warned you may get a little dizzy!!! But she sure looks cute!!!

Yo Gabba Gabba Live...It's Time To Dance!!!

Tonight we took the girls to Yo Gabba Gabba Live. As we entered the theater Josie started singing "Yo Gabba Gabba" over & over :) She was jumping & squeeling with excitement as this was her first "live" show. Gracie was all about buying the cool "glow stick" to wave around during the show. So of course, they each got one & waved them all around as they danced in their seats & in the aisle too. "There's A Party In My Tummy" & "Get The Sillies Out" were their favorite songs. A very fun night was had by all :)

Movie Night

After an eventful day of watching football with daddy, the girls decided it was time to relax with a movie. So we turned the playroom into a movie theater & they enjoyed one of their favorite Barbie movies all snuggled up in their new princess sleeping bags. They turned off the lights & enjoyed their favorite movie snacks...popcorn & m&m's. A great way to end the weekend :)

Football Sunday

The girls were very excited for FOOTBALL SUNDAY at our house. They kept asking when the games were going to start & 12 o'clock could not come soon enough for them. Hot dogs & chips for lunch & chili cooking on the stove for dinner...yummy!!! Sporting their Bears jerseys & rooting for them with daddy!!! Although Josie kept saying "Go Packers!!!" Very cute :) Too bad the Packers & the Bears were on at the same time today. Overall, a great day for football!!!

Harvest Days

Today was our 4th annual trip to Harvest Days at The Lincoln Park Zoo. Our first trip, Josie was 2 months old & we have gone rain or shine ever since as it's a great family day!!! First up, we head to the pumpkin patch where the girls pick out their "perfect" pumpkin. Next up, we head to the decorating station to pick out the design of choice. Funny that they each picked out the same design as last year. Gracie chose Mr. Jack-O-Lantern & Josie Ms. Kitty Cat.

Welcome To St. Clement

Tonight was the Fall Welcome at Gracie's school. It was the kick-off to the school year & parents were able to visit the classroom to talk to the teachers & see the work the kids have done in their first couple weeks of school. The first thing I saw when I walked into the school was a bulletin board with all the new students along with their picture & a list of their favorite things.

Gracie's favorite things were as follows:

Dance Dance Dance!!!

The girls started their dance classes this week. Josie started her 2nd year of ballet & was so excited that she had to try on her new ballet leotard the night before class & twirled round & round the room showing off all her moves. Gracie started her 4th year of dance & will be taking ballet, tap & hip hop. She was most excited about her tap shoes...boy can she move those feet & make quite some noise too. We look forward to lots of dancing at class & our house too :)

Gracie's Wibbly-Wobbly Tooth

Gracie has had a wibbly-wobbly tooth for a few weeks now. And we have been anticipating when the day will come & where she will be when the "wibbly-wobbly" tooth falls out . Today was the big day!!! Gracie was eating her lunch at school & after she ate her applesauce & was taking a bite of her cheese...pop...out came her tooth!!! No worries...as Gracie knew exactly what to do. She told her teacher & they took her to the office to get a "special" container for her tooth & a sticker too that she wore the rest of the day which said "I Lost A Tooth". It was the first thing mommy noticed when she picked her up from school. And the tooth fairy came to our house & left her $10...a big cash prize for the first tooth . Target here we come...

Our Little Preschooler

Today our little Josie started preschool...Wow time sure does fly by!!! She was very excited as she was well equipped with her new princess lunchbox & princess backpack. Her first day went really well...no tears when I dropped her off & a big smile when I picked her up :) As soon as she saw me standing outside she came running & gave me lots of hugs & kisses. Her favorite parts of her first day were...painting, singing songs & eating lunch. We are so proud of our little girl. Good luck in preschool Josie!!! Although she did say that next week she MAY "stay home" with Mommy so let's hope next week goes well too :)

Our Little Fisherman

While in Michigan, Gracie went fishing for the first time. And she REALLY REALLY wanted to catch a fish. Yay...mission accomplishment as she caught her first fish & she & Elyse decided to name him Tom. After showing him off to everyone & touching him too, they decided to let him back in the water to swim :) She says she's ready to catch another one next summer!!!

Good-bye Summer

We said good-bye to summer as we know it Labor Day weekend. What a fun time we had with our friends The Hoffman's in Michigan. Gracie, Elyse & Josie sure loved hanging out at the lake. I sure wish I could have heard what they were talking about while enjoying the view in this photo...so cute!!! Thanks Dan, Kristen, Elyse & Adele for a fun Labor Day :) A perfect ending to summer.

First Day Of Kindergarten

Today was the BIG DAY...Gracie's first day of Kindergarten!!! She was very excited to go to school & to wear her jumper (oh the memories for mommy of wearing her catholic school uniform). And she looked absolutely adorable too!!! She was all smiles on her way into school & on her way out of school too. So a very successful first day...good luck to our little Kindergartener :) We are so proud of you!!!

Highlights According To Gracie:

*Eating lunch in a place called "the cafeteria" & enjoying the school's milk carton too :)
*Recess on the rooftop....she says "it was so cool!!!"
*Meeting some new friends & playing tag at recess with them
*Taking a tour of the school & staying quiet in the hallway
*"If you are not nice you have to have a "timeout" until you are nice again:)
