Rapunzel

Josie was in heaven today at ballet as the book was Rapunzel...one of her favorite princesses. She dressed up in her amazing purple dress along with beautiful long blonde braids :) And they danced to one of her favorite songs from the movie "At Last I See The Light". If you listen closely at the end you can hear her singing away :) Love how much this little girl loves to sing & dance!!!

SPring Has SPrung

Spring definitely sprung today in our backyard & it's the first day of spring too!!! The girls have been waiting & waiting for our flowers in the backyard to bloom. They have been checking on them every day & even sprayed them over the weekend with their spray bottles. So they were VERY excited to see that our daffodils finally bloomed along with 2 giant Whirly Pops!!! Gracie is convinced they bloomed from all of her spraying :) But it really didn't matter how they grew as they sure enjoyed eating them. Josie's whirly pop was almost as big as her!!! And it was 80 degrees today too :) Loving spring...

Bibbity Bobbity Boo

The girls enjoyed the Disney Princess Live: Three Fairytale Stories Show this weekend. The stories included some of our favorite princesses...Snow White, Cinderella & Belle. They also got to dress up in their favorite princess shirts & tights & get their picture taken on the Cinderella Stage :) And daddy bought them each a princess necklace...Gracie picked Cinderella & Josie picked Belle. Bonus too as they get to share them :) These little princesses were in heaven...

Gracie's Irish Jig

Today Gracie celebrated St. Patty's Day at school. The highlight of the day was the Irish Dancers performing for the entire school. Gracie enjoyed the dancing so much that she taught herself the Irish Jig :) She was so proud of herself that she danced the entire way home from school...bummer I didn't have my camera!!! Luckily she performed several jigs for me when we got home :) So fun!!!

Carousel Cruising

The temperature is beginning to rise this week. What better way to kick it off then to spend the day at the Lincoln Park Zoo. And of course, a ride on the carousel too :)

My World. My Kindergarten.

I was on the comittee for Gracie's class project for the auction. We created a coffee table book that included a picture of each child, a photo they drew of themselves & quotes from interviews that we conducted with them. Also included were quotes from the teachers, class photos & pictures the children drew of the school & church. The book included both Kindergarten classes & has always been a very popular item to bid on at the auction. And since I helped create it, it really meant a lot to me. And I really wanted Gracie to have the book too so she would have a keepsake of her first year of kindergarten to look back on someday :) We bid, & we bid & we got it!!! We are the lucky winners of My World. My Kindergarten. And Gracie is a very happy girl too :) Fun to be the only ones to have the book too!!! We have been looking at it everyday.

St. Clements Black Tie Benefit

We enjoyed a fun night out on Saturday night for Gracie's school's black tie auction & benefit. We mingled with good friends, enjoyed filet mignon & bid on some amazing things too.

The Cat In The Hat

Gracie's class celebrated Dr. Seuss this week & each day they enjoyed a favorite classic. Today the week ended with the classic book The Cat In The Hat....oh how we love that hat!!!! She seems to really like it too :)

Our Little Mermaid

We added another princess movie to our collection....The Little Mermaid. Josie loved the movie & has been singing all the songs throughout the house, in the car & pretty much wherever we go :) So she was very happy when we found a Little Mermaid t-shirt while shopping at Old Navy. And to top it off she also got a pair of leggings with Ariel on them to match her shirt....thanks Mandy!!! I love how much she loves princesses :)

Gracie's Mini Me

Today we went to the "Wake Up & Boogie" event sponsored by the Northside Parents Network. There were lots of games, arts & crafts & of course music!!! Gracie made a little "mini me" with lots of long blonde hair & she even put the number 5 on her arm...well because's she's 5 you know :) And she added the number 3 on the other arm in honor of Josie. A good time was had by all :)
