The girls love Barbie movies & we have quite a collection of Barbie movies too.  And what good movie doesn't have good songs to sing along to too!!! So the "Sing Along With Barbie" DVD they got for their birthday was a big hit.  They sure have been enjoying singing together to some of Barbie's best hits :)   They plan to take it to our big screen soon with their microphone.  Stay tuned...

First Grade According To Gracie

Our Little First Grader

 

Today was a big day at our house...Gracie started first grade.  And we are so excited for her to continue on in elementary school.  She is very excited about learning more in math & expanding her reading skills.  But where does the time go?!?!?  It was 4 years ago & just after her little sister was born that we started our first mom & tot class together.  Oh how I looked forward to our weekly time in the classroom together where we would explore new things.  The following year she started preschool & I still remember crying as I left the parking lot on her first day. And then I looked back in the rear view mirror & she was waving & smiling at me :)   Next up, Kindergarten at a new school & new friends & more learning about letters & numbers.   Gracie you are ready for First Grade & I know it's ready for you too :)  Good luck on your first day!!!

 



Books Check!!!

 

After a fun-filled shopping day for books, we are officially ready for school!!! And the girls are very excited to go home & read their assigned books for the upcoming school year :)  We are ready!!!



Movie Night With The Moises :)



Next up...movie night with our friends the Moise Girls :)  Since our hubby's are both traveling abroad, I hosted a playday & movie night at our house.  The girls enjoyed one of their favorite summer movies, The Little Mermaid.  And when asked who wanted to be a mermaid, the answer was unanimous :) Love all these little princesses!!!

Starbucks Serves Vino :)

 

Starbucks now serves two of my favorite things...coffee & vino!!! My friend Mandy & I went to our neighborhood Starbucks for a free wine tasting tonight & came home with these wine glasses :)  One says "Escape Your Plans" & the other "Breathe Out, Drink In.  A fun little happy hour for us!!!  Cheers...we love you Starbucks :)

Today we went to the hospital to meet the newest member of our family...Lucy Madison.  The girls both loved holding her & looked so cute too :) And they are very excited for many fun outings in the future with cousins Zoey & Lucy.  We definitely have lots of girl power on this side of the family & boy power on the other!!! And Aunt Laurie & Uncle Kris are looking forward to spoiling yet another little niece.  Congratulations Zwiefelhofers we are very happy for you!!! :)

Look who loves riding her new bike!!! She mostly loves ringing the bell & peddling really fast.  And of course, that she has a trunk for her baby to ride in the back :)  And Big Sister Gracie loves giving her a few tips since she's a pro on her princess bike.  More summer fun!!!

Thanks Mommy...We LOVE our Rapunzel braids!!!  The first thing they did this morning was dress-up as Rapunzel...3 fun-filled hours in the playroom :)  Not a bad way to start a Sunday morning!!!

Rapunzel Let Down Your Hair

Mother Nature may have ruined our rooftop movie plans BUT the show must go on, right?  The girls were beyond excited to go see one of their favorite movies tonight on the rooftop of Lakeshore Athletic Club for Kids Movie Night.  It was the one movie that was a MUST SEE for us!!!  And the views of the city from the rooftop are amazing too. So when the thunderstorms rolled in & movie night got cancelled we needed a quick back-up plan. So we created our own movie night in our basement...movie snacks, Rapunzel pajamas & it wouldn't be Rapunzel Movie Night without her beautiful long hair :)  I had made these Rapunzel braids earlier in the week at craft night.  And I had planned on surprising them with them for their birthday party but decided that tonight was the night to let them wear them.  Good choice too as look at those smiles :)  A fun-filled family movie night at home...so fun!!!





Wrigley Field Family Day 2012

One of the perks of being cubs season ticket holders is being invited to Family Day at Wrigley Field.  We were able to enjoy the friendly confines at it's finest...right on the field!!!  The girls sat in the dugout, ran the bases & even toured the cubs locker room!!!  We also enjoyed complimentary hot dogs, chips & a cold bud light.  Well just Kris & I enjoyed the cold bud light :)  What a fun family day at our favorite ballpark...we love our cubbies :) Go Cubs Go!!!

Fancy Nancy Camp...Emerald City Theater

The girls enjoyed a week of theater camp at the Emerald City Theater.  The theme for the week was one of their favorite books....Fancy Nancy!!!  They used their fanciful imaginations while learning drama techniques in "Fancy Nancy" style as they discovered their unique fashionista style too.  They practiced songs & dances all week in preparation for their big performance for all the parents on Friday.  Ooooh la la....the girls performance was fancy fun :)  And most importantly, they loved it!!!
