Moise's Monster Bash

 

Thanks to The Moise's for hosting a craft playday for all of our little monsters :) They made monster puppets with googly eyes & painted pumpkins while decked out in matching aprons.  Such a fun party!!! And a great way to kick-off the Halloween season too !!! :)

 

Prayer Bear

 

Gracie brought home the "Prayer Bear" from school today.  Everyone in her class gets a turn to bring home the bear & take care of him for 2 nights & pray with him before bedtime.   In addition, she gets to take a picture of herself & "Prayer Bear" to display in the "Prayer Bear Book" so all of  her classmates get to see him at her house.  The prayer we read before bedtime is noted below.

We enjoyed a yummy teppanyaki dinner tonight.  So fun to have the chef cook your dinner right in front of you :)  The girls sure enjoyed the "fire show" & Gracie compared it to a magic show!!!

 

 

Strack & Van Til

 

Gracie's class has also been learning about nutrition this week.  So what better way to learn about the food pyramid then to head to the grocery store.  And guess who joined the class on their first field trip, yes that would be me :)  Perfect as I love to shop too!!! It was so fun to sample foods & explore the grocery store with a bunch of 6 year olds.  And to hear all about the different kinds of foods they like to eat.  Gracie even decided to try smoked salmon after learning about it at the fish counter. And she liked it too :)  A fun field trip outing.

 

 

School Boot Camp

 

This week Gracie's class is learning about health & fitness.   Gracie & Lauren are demonstrating that just because they are girls, it doesn't mean that they have to do the "girl" push-up!!! :) Go girls!!!

 

 

Baby Goes To School

Josie was the first person in her class to bring home the "share bag".  The "share bag" is a very special privledge as you get to bring one of your favorite things to school to share with the class.  You also bring in 3 clues so that your friends can guess what's in your bag.  Josie was very excited to take her most priced possession to school...her baby :)  Although she was a little worried that someone would take baby home, after a little reassurrance she was ready.  Her teachers even said that she passed baby around the room & let everyone hold her.   Oh the love she has for this baby!!! :)

Mitch Stephens #83

 

Today we went to Mitch's 2nd football game of the season.  I still can't believe that my nephew is in 4th grade & playing tackle football.  The girls brought their pom pom's & we all cheered loudly as it was a very close game.  His team ended up losing by one point...ugh!!! The final score was 28-27.  But Mitch played a great game & even caught a pass in the end zone for a 2 point conversion.  Yay Mitch!!!  As you can see, everyone was still smiling (most importantly Mitch) post game despite the tough loss.   Go #83!!!

 

 

Clement Connection

 

If you look closely, you will see 2 little girls holding hands as they walk to school with their mommy :)  Recognize the trio? Yes, that's me & the girls. This picture was taken by the school photographer on Josie's first day of school.  I had no idea that this picture was taken until the following morning when the principal stopped me outside at drop-off to tell me that she had a really cute picture of us walking to school that she was going to send me.  And it was one of the pictures chosen for the first week of school photo collage in the school newsletter.  Ooohhh how this picture makes me smile :)

 

 

Fall Welcome

 

Tonight I attended the Fall Welcome at school.   It's the most attended funtion of the entire school year as parents visit the classroom & see what the children have been working on in the first couple weeks of school.  Gracie wanted to make sure I saw her self portrait hanging outside her classroom.  Good job Gracie, as it looks just like you.  Josie drew a picture of our house & labeled all of her favorite things & places like her grass & her flowers :)   And Josie got to chose a picture of herself to take to school to hang in her cubby.  After looking at a few pictures, she chose a picture of her & her baby because she said that she misses her while she's at school.  At least baby is in good hands with mommy while she's in school.  So I had to get a picture so that some day when she's older I can show her how much she loved her baby.  Both girls are off to a great start :)

 

 

Dance, Dance, Dance!!!

 

Josie started a new dance class today...she's now taking ballet, tap & hip hop just like her big sister Gracie.  She was very excited to go to class but she was MOST excited to try out her new tap shoes & she sure can make some noise :)  And she's taking class with one of her besties, Ellie so seeing them clicky, clack around was adorable.  Looking forward to a fun year of learning new dance routines.

Pre-K According To Josie :)

Highlights of her first day included...playing, walking to school with Gracie & her first job of shutting off the lights in the classroom.  And she's excited to go back tomorrow too...yay!!!

Josie's First Day of School

 

Today was Josie's first day of Pre-K at St. Clement School.  She was beyond excited this morning & sang "I'm going to school, I'm going to school" over & over through the house as we got ready. After she was all dressed in her uniform she looked in the mirror & proudly said "I look cute!!!" :)  I have to say that mommy agreed as she looked absolutely adorable in her navy blue uniform!!! And she is very excited to be at the same school as her big sister Gracie :)   Not only do they get to walk to school together but their classrooms are across the hall from each other.   They both are very excited as they will see each other in the hallways during the day :)  Good things ahead for you this year Josie...we love you!!!

 



Girls Day Out

 

With daddy fighting a cold & being a trooper at the UNI/Badger football game yesterday, we decided to give him a day of rest so just "us girls" went to the cubs game!!! The cubs didn't win but I enjoyed the day with 2 of my favorite cubs fans :) Yay for "Girls Day Out!!!" And a fun-filled sports weekend for The Rothleutner's!!!

 

A Duck, A Panther & A Badger

 

The first college football game of the season & I got to enjoy it with my hubby & brother-in-law.  Even though my Panther's didn't pull out the WIN, it was a fun-filled day with family.  Hard to believe I haven't been to a college football game in 5 years & it was in Madison with these two against my other favorite team the Iowa Hawkeys :)  Looking forward to College Football Saturdays!!!
