We Like Candy!!!

We enjoyed a fun-filled Halloween trick-or-treating with our cousins Mitch, Jack & Brady.   A fun family tradition for us :) The kids literally ran from house to house to house & came home with about 50lbs of candy!!!   It's all about the candy, right? We are definitely stocked up on sweets at our house.  Such a fun night :)

Josie's First Field Trip

 

Josie was so excited for her first field trip & her first bus ride to Didier Farms.  She even got ready for the big day by singing "The Wheels On The Bus"  while getting ready for school this morning.  And I have no doubt that she probably sang it on the bus ride too :)  She was all smiles upon her return & couldn't wait to show me her pumpkin.  She did tell me that maybe next time I could come too.   Ohhh if I could only join her on all the field trips, I certainly would :)

The Fresh Beat Band

 

One of the girls favorite bands is The Fresh Beat Band. So what better way to end my birthday weekend then to go to the concert with my girls & some of our favorite friends.  The girls sang & danced in the aisle the entire show.  And watching them was absolutely priceless. And the concert ended with our favorite song...Great Day!!! "We had a great day, the very best day & nothing could be better!!!" What a fun magical memory for all of us.



Slumber Party

 

Who's ready for a slumber party?!?!?  Gracie & her best friend Taylor have been asking to do a slumber party for months. And tonight was the night. Luckily their siblings got to join in on the fun too :) After the pizza party, the girls (and Bennett :) headed to the bathroom spa for a bath & a fancy hair style. Next up was a girly manicure & the night ended with a Barbie Movie.  And they all slept in the same room too.  A very successful first slumber party.  So fun!!!

 

Pizza Party!!!

The girls were invited to a play day pizza party on Saturday.  The plan was to order pizza but we thought it would be fun to make our own since Papa & Nana gave us mini pizza pans .  So the girls & I brought the dough & all the toppings & along with our pizza pans we set off for a fun-filled pizza play day.  The kids had lots of fun & it's alway fun to see the creativity in each pizza pie :)

Today was my birthday & I have to say the older the girls get the more fun it gets celebrating getting older too :)  They were conspiring & whispering with daddy all week about surprising me for my birthday.  So Daddy took a half day from work to help the girls get ready for the birthday festivities.  They wanted me out of the house so Gracie suggested that I go for a manicure & pedicure & I was to paint my nails pink & my toes purple :)  Apparently as soon as I left the house, they began making cards & decorating my birthday cake.  Gracie also wanted to make it extra fancy so besides having daddy buy balloons she put post-it note messages all over the house for me.  My favorite was the one she left on my bed that said "I love you mommy!!!"  Best birthday ever!!!  I'm one lucky mommy :)



Dance Contest Winners...Call Me Maybe?

Drum Roll Please...and the winners of the dance contest are Ashley & Gracie.  Since it was too close to call they were both winners.   Great job girls. You must take after your daddy's :)

Glamour Girl Party

 

Gracie glammed it up today with some of her good friends at Ashley's 6th Birthday Party :) The Glam Girls glammed them up with hair & make-up.  They looked so cute & oh so fun too :)

Today we made our annual trip to Didier Farms in search of the "perfect pumpkin". Of course, we found 2 as the girls each found the "perfect" one :)  And we also bought a "ghost pumpkin" named for being white so of course we had to get that too.  Other highlights included a hayride, lots of amusement rides & coming home with our favorite pumpkin & apple donuts.  A successful trip all around :)

2012 Chicago Marathon

This morning we got up early to watch the Chicago Marathon.  How fun that mile 8 1/2 is a half a block from our house!!! :) We sure had fun cheering on all the runners.  Congratulations to all the runners especially our fan favorites...Liz, Jeff, & Dan!!! :) We heart Chicago.

A Day Of Opposites

 

Opposite day in Pre-K today was a fun filled day.  Josie was decked out in her opposites...a stripe dress with polka dot leggings, a white sock & a hello kitty patterned sock & a piggy tail with a piggy braid. As she looked in the mirror this morning she said "Wow...I look fabulous!!!" :)   During the day they did many things that were opposite. They sang songs opposite, counted backwards & read stories standing up. It was a very silly day for them & she came home with lots of fun stories.  What a fun week learning about opposites.

 

Wacky Wednesday

 

This week in preschool Josie's class is learning about opposites. On Monday they painted on the floor under their table instead of painting on top of the table.  On Tuesday they painted with their feet instead of their hands.  And today was Wacky Hair Wednesday!!!  Josie was very excited to go to school with her silly hair :)  So we put her hair in little pony tails all over her head & added a blue pony tail to the mix thanks to big sister Gracie.  Great idea Gracie :)  What a fun way to learn about opposites.  Next up...mis-matched Friday.
