Baked Goodies
The first graders were divided into groups to sell all of their baked goodies during the lunch periods. Josie was so excited during her shift & she smiled the entire time. I enjoyed watching her in action as she would collect the money & then she would run directly to their bank to deposit the money before she would give them their baked good :) It was a good day too as they sold over $950 which will be donated to the HoneyComb Foundation for their Lenten Project. It's All About The Bake, Bake Sale was a big success.

The teachers took this adorable video of all of the first graders :)

First Grade Bake Sale
Today's the big day & I was 1 of 4 lucky mom's who was able to volunteer today at the Bake Sale. Yay for me!!! When I walked into the cafeteria Josie was there to suprise & greet me as if your mom was volunteering you got to help them set up all the goodies. She wanted to take a picture by our brownies & kept telling me that they were going to sell out fast. And I must say that I agree as they are delicious. If she keeps that big smile, she's sure to sell a lot of goodies. Go get em Josie.

Dear Josie
Gracie knew how excited Josie has been about the upcoming Bake Sale. She wrote her this cute note & left it on the counter so she would see it when she sat down for breakfast. What a sweet Big Sister :) And Little Sister Josie is going to be so excited too!!!
It's All About The Bake
Josie rocked her Bake Sale Jingle which was inspired by the #1 hit of 2014 by Meghan Trainor called All About The Bass

BAKE SALE!!!
First Grade Bake Sale
Tomorrow is a BIG DAY for Josie as it's the First Grade Bake Sale at school. The first graders have been busy preparing for this day for weeks. It's their Lenten Project & the proceeds will be donated to The Honeycomb Project. Josie keeps saying that this is going to be "the best day ever!!!". So tonight is our big night to bake together. We were assigned brownies & she has all kinds of ideas. We need to bring in 3 dozen brownies so we are making 3 kinds of brownies. A dozen of Nana Marci's popular Fudge Brownies with chocolate chips that daddy loved as a little boy. A dozen of M&M brownies which Josie thinks is A MUST & a dozen of blondie brownies because well "they just look so good!!!" My Little Baker is very motivated to bake with me all night. It's going a little slow in the kitchen but she's really impressing me with her baking skills. And that SMILE :)

Brownie Field Trip
Gracie's Brownie Troop went on a field trip today to the Nature Museum to earn their badge on insects. They learned many fascinating facts about many different kinds of insects & then they were able to touch them too. Some favorites were the sparkling beetles, the crickets, the rolly polly & the most popular one to many of the girls, including Gracie, were the superworms. It was very interesting to see a bunch of 8 year old girls getting so into BUGS!!! The fun ended in the Butterfly Room where the girls were able to release a butterfly. Before they released her they all agreed to name her "Brownie". A very fitting name :)

Dinner Round 2 :)
My Valentine made me a delicious dinner. Lamb lollipops, roasted brussel sprouts & sweet potatoes. I "heart" my chef :)
Valentine's Day Dinner
The girls requested the same Valentine's Day dinner that I made them last year. Red velvet pancakes & pink chocolate chip pancakes. They enjoyed their pancakes with fresh strawberries & raspberries & strawberry yogurt with a hershey's kiss on top. A "sweet" dinner for our sweethearts :) XOXOX
Easy Bake Oven Fun
Our American Girl baking party was lots of fun. Thanks Nana Shirley for the Easy Bake Oven. We enjoyed making Red Velet & Strawberry Cakes & topped them off with heart candies. Gracie whipped up the red velet cake & Josie the pink strawberry cake & we all worked together icing it. A fun-filled afternoon in the kitchen with the girls.
Valentine's Day Baking
Our annual traditional girls spa day is complete. Always fun getting Valentine's Mani/Pedi's. Next up a baking party with our American Girl Dolls :) The girls spent a lot of time picking out the perfect baking outfits for each of tbeir dolls. Bon Appeiti XOXOX
80
Happy Happy Birthday to my Mom & our Nana Shirley. I still can't believe that today you are 80 years old. I can only hope that I have as much energy & spunk that you do when I'm 80 years old. We are looking forward to celebrating you at your upcoming party. So many wonderful memories of the mom that made me the mommy I am today :) We heart you more than you'll ever know. XOXOX

To Josie
Conor also made a special Valentine for Josie. He wrote her a poem. It read...
Dear Josie
Roses are red
Violets are blue
This is a Valentine just for you.
PS I love you
From Conor
To Conor
Tonight we are going out for a family dinner with The Gibbs Family. Josie spent a very long time after school making a very special Valentine's Day card for her buddy Conor. She still plans to marry him someday. I love how she drew a picture of them on the inside of the card. I'm sure he's gonnn love it. :)

Surprise Sweathearts
They were certainly surprised when they walked in the door & all the lights were off :) As soon as I turned on the lights & they saw all the goodies on the counter-top waiting for them they started to squeal. They enjoyed a yummy mexican dinner, pink drinks in glasses that lip up & lots of M&M's & Hersey Kisses. A fun ending to a fun-filled date night with daddy.
Daddy Daughter Dance Dinner
Instead of relaxing & reading a magazine like I told them I was going to do while they were at the Daddy/Daughter Dance, I decided to surprise them with a Valentine's Day themed dinner. So as soon as they left the house I began prepping for heart-shaped quesadillas, pink drinks & lots of chocolates for dessert. Daddy didn't even know I was planning this special dinner but thankfully he text me when they were on their way home. So I turned off all the lights & waited for the BIG surprise!!! I can't wait to see the look on their faces :)
Daddy Daughter Dance
Tonight is the Daddy Daughter Dance at school. The girls picked out their fanciest dresses to impress daddy. And of course, they wanted Mommy to curl their hair too. I'm not sure who is luckier but it sure to be a good time. Have fun....

Date Night With Daddy
Although Gracie was invited to join us & the Daisy Troop for the Disney On Ice Frozen Fun, she already had commitments on the Dance Team. So after she got home from dance, she & daddy had dinner & played games by the fire. And it sounds like she loved every minute of it too :) Thanks daddy for capturing this photo!!!
Disney On Ice
Tonight Josie & I went to Disney On Ice with her Daisy Troop. She was so excited to dress up in her Elsa dress & join her friends for the show. The show was absolutely amazing & followed our favorite movie, Frozen. We had a great time singing & dancing to our favorite Frozen songs. Of course, the girls wanted to shop before we went to our seats & after much debate on what to get, they each decided to get the snowflake wand that lit up so they could enjoy it during the show. And I'm really glad that they enjoyed the wand before, during & after the show. As it the most expensive wand I have ever purchased for her in her 6 years & I've purchased many princess wands. But it was worth the $30 to see the happiness on her little face & we made it home with it too. #yolo
