In between all the gorilla hoopla, I also went on a field trip on Thursday morning with Gracie & her class.  We saw the play Charlotte's Web.  It was a great show!!!

Way to go Josie!!! You nailed it & we are so proud of you.  I can't imagine being 6 years old & presenting to 45+ classmates, 5+ teachers & 20+ parents.  Your hard work & dedication certainly paid off for you today.  And according to your Big Sister Gracie, the rumors in the hallways from many of the teachers who attended was that you stole the show as your personality certainly shined through. And days later, Mommy is still being stopped outside of school from parents & teachers raving about you & your Gorillas Report.  "You, You & You, should be very proud of You".  :)

All About Gorillas

The first graders are studying mammals.  They each got to pick a mammal to learn about & research at the library with their teachers.  Josie's top three mammals were the gorilla, the monkey & the polar bear.  After much thought, she decided to chose the gorilla.  Which also was the same mammal Gracie chose for her mammal when she was in first grade :)  She was very excited to decorate her poster but she was not so excited to present it to her class.  She said she was going to be too nervous as everyone would be staring at her.  I have to admit, I'm always a little nervous too talking in of front large groups.  But I know that our Josie Boo has the personality & the charm to light up an entire room. Go get em Josie. :)

Sound of Music

The Sound of Music was one of my favorite movies as a child.  Oh the memories of watching this movie with my mom.  So when I heard that it was the 50th Anniversary of the Sound of Music & that the movie was going to be playing on the big screen at the movie theater, I knew that I wanted to take the girls.  And how fun for them to see it for the first time on the big screen. I was so excited for them & they were so excited for the movie & the movie snacks :)  Gracie wanted to make sure we got a big popcorn so that there would be enough for all of us.  And Josie wanted to make sure we also got M&M's.  We left early to make sure we got the best seats in the theater. We walk into the theater & the popcorn smelled amazing.  We went to print our tickets & that's when we got the bad news.  The ticket agent  told us that they were having technical difficulties with the movie projector & that they wouldn't be able to show the movie at 2pm.  And they weren't sure if the 7pm movie would be played either.  WHAT?!?! Thankfully the girls handled the situation very well.   Since we were right by Target I decided we would stop in to see if they had the movie.  And lucky for us that since it's the 50th Anniversary they were selling a bonus Movie DVD with a sing along DVD too. So we bought the DVD & went home to make popcorn with M&M's & watch the movie on "the big screen" in our basement. They LOVED IT!!! The hills are alive with the sound of music. 

Lesson learned...when life gives you lemons, make lemonade!!! :)

Riding Roller Coasters

Saturday's festivities ended riding roller coasters at the Mall of America.  Wow these kids love the coasters & the "loop to loops" as Josie likes to call them. Thankfully I like them too as I was riding with them each & every time.  As soon as we got off one ride, we were running to get on the next.  It was exhausting for us mommy's but those smiles made it all worth it :)  More spring break fun.

After exploring the Barbie Dream Home, the Barbie Birthday Party ended with a Barbie Runway Show. The girls sang popular Barbie songs while they dressed up in fancy barbie clothes & walked the runway. Barbie Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!!! :)

The tour of the Barbie Dream House was absolutely amazing for young & old barbie fans.  Our favorites were her dream kitchen & her amazing shoe closet.  Love the wallpaper & the shoe chairs. 

Taylor's Barbie Birthday Party

Wow we have been to every single one of Taylor's birthday parties since she turned 1 years old.  So it was very special that we were able to travel to Minnesota during Spring Break for a "Girls Trip" to celebrate #8 with her at her Barbie Party.  And WOW, what a Barbie Party too. Barbie make-up, Barbie hair & a tour of the Barbie Dream House. Every barbie girls dream :) #barbiegirls

Next up....a little GDO Bowling Tournament.  The Rothleutner Girls challenged the Peterson's Girls to a friendly bowling match.  Congratulations to all our little bowlers. And a special shout-out to Josie who came in 2nd place as she was knocking all the pins down. There will definitely be a bowling re-match next time we visit Minnesota.  Love how we all have pink bowling balls except Taylor who chose purple as that's her favorite color. #girlygirls

Cubs Opening Day

Cheering on our beloved Cubbies on Opening Day 2015.  And toasting 12 years of sharing season tickets with our family :)  And a special shout out to my hubby who got up one VERY COLD & EARLY morning in January 12 years ago to get in line to get our season tickets. We will always be grateful for you :) This Buds for all of you!!!  This is gonna be our year.  Go Cub Go!!!
