Limo Ride

It was a day of "First's" for Gracie.  She celebrated her First Reconciliation this morning followed by her first Limo Ride & her first slumber party.  She was invited to her friend Nora Kate's 9th Birthday.  They were heading downtown to ice skate a Maggie Daley Ice Ribbon & then back to Nora Kate's house for a Slumber Party!!!  The girls were very excited when a Limo pulled up to drive them downtown.  And I was very excited for them when I received the picture from Nora Kate's Mom. It was a great party & Gracie is still talking about the Limo ride :)

Celebration Cheers

This morning we went to a special service at Church for Gracie to receive her First Reconciliation.  We have been preparing the last couple of months for this big day.  And we completed many worksheets & activities as a family on making mistakes & bad judgements & asking for forgiveness. This morning on our way to Church, Gracie said she knew exactly what she was going to tell the priest.  I  can't say I was as calm as she was back when I made my First Reconciliation.  To celebrate Gracie & her First Reconciliation we took the girls out for lunch at Las Fuentes.  And when Gracie told Benjamin (our favorite waiter) why we were there to celebrate he said he had just the perfect drink.  He came back with Kiddie Cocktails.  Usually when he brings them a Kiddie Cocktail they are  serviced in kid glasses.  But not today as he came back with their Kiddie Cocktails in BIG glasses for her "Big Day" .  During lunch, Josie kept aksing Gracie to tell us what she told the priest.  Gracie kept telling her "No" & that she didn't want to share as it was suppose to be private.  However, she finally told her that when she is in 3rd Grade & getting ready for her First Reconciliation she would tell her what she told him.  What a grown up answer from our Gracie Girl.  We are so proud of you Gracie as you have completed another important sacrament.

Twin Day...Love Thy Selfie

The Third Graders decided to dress up as "Twins" for their "out of uniform day".  Gracie & her friend Grace Gibbs had all kinds of ideas on how to dress up as twins.  One even included going shopping together at Justice for something new.  But they finally decided that the option & outfit they liked the best was wearing matching T-Shirts that said "Love Thy Selfie".  So Grace borrowed Josie's shirt & we even had an extra pair of  matching shoes that fit her too.   She also asked if she could borrow a pair of socks too as they had to be identical :) The last decision was how to wear their hair.  They both decided on buns as they didn't think anyone else would think to wear their hair in a bun :)  They sure had fun creating this outfit.  Thanks to the teachers for sending the pictures :)

Rainbow Fun

The other First Grade class were instructed to dress up in specific color so they put the 2 classes together to make a First Grade Rainbow!!! :)

First Grade White Out

On the last day of Catholic Schools Week each class got to pick a theme for an "out of uniform day".  Josie's class decided since it was winter to have a WHITE OUT & they all dressed in white.  Well they were suppose to dress in as much white as possible. Josie was dressed from head to toe in white, including her boots!!! :)  She came home very excited telling us that she had the most white on of anyone in her class.  She's in the back row/left side by her buddy Sienna & Conor.   Oh First Grade Fun!!!

Catholic Schools Week

Growing up for me, Catholic Schools Week was one of my favorite weeks of the school year.  Now I'm living it again with the girls.  This photo was taken at Parents Day!!! We played charades with the 3rd Graders & our family was a rock band.  I was the lead singer, Gracie played guitar & daddy played the drums.  We played a fun game called Buzz with Josie's & the first graders.  The girls were so excited to have us there & a good time was had by all.

I can't move yet as I'm still in shock that the Packers blew their lead & the game :(  At least we had fun cheering them on as the girls & I did push-ups each time the Packers scored.   We are going to have some sore arms tomorrow.  Time to retire my socks until next year.
