Josie designed her cake for her First Communion. She wanted her favorite colors so she chose pink & purple flowers for the cross & yellow flowers for the border.  And she insisted on having a chocolate cake with chocolate filling inside as you can never have too much chocolate!! :)  It was delicious & the perfect ending to her First Communion. We love your Josie.

Cousin Power

All the cousins minus Mitch who had to leave to go to a baseball game are getting ready to celebrate Josie's First Communion with a dance party.  I'm anticipating some unique & fun dance moves along with some great song requests.

It was an amazing First Communion Day for Josie & her 2nd grade class.  And it wouldn't have been as special as if was without Josie's amazing teacher Mrs. Connolly.  Josie absolutely loves her & she has helped her grow in so many ways this year.  We are very grateful :)

Josie Big Day

She has been anxiously awaiting  this day since 2nd Grade started last fall & the big day is finally here.  She has prayed & participated & practiced to prepare for her First Communion.  She is proudly wearing her big sister's First Communion dress, tiara & veil that Gracie proudly wore two years ago on her First Communion Day.  We love family traditions so it makes my heart happy that when given the option to get a new dress or wear her sister's, she chose wearing her sisters dress.  They wore the same baptism dress too :)  We are now heading to St. Clement Church to join her 2nd Grade Class on their First Communion. We are so proud of you Josie!!!

St. Clement Classic

Tonight we attended the annual St. Clement Classic.  This fun-filled event is where the parents play their son/daughter in a family friendly game of basketball.  So I along with some other parents took on Gracie & the 4th grade girls basketball team.  We certainly had fun & it was a close game.  I'm not sure of the final score as there was a glitch with the score board at the end of the game but Gracie & her friends think they beat us by 2 points.  Re-match next year girls & we are gonna get you :)  Next year, daddy is going to play too!!! :)

Grandparents Day

In honor of Josie's First Communion this weekend, she was able to invite some special guests to school today for a school tour.  She was very excited that her grandparents would be here for her special day so she could show them all of her favorite things about St. Clement & introduce them to her teacher.  By the smiles it looks like they all had a good time & we are all excited for her First Communion.

Starlet Board

Look who's the Starlet Board dancer of the week.  She received it this time not only for her dancing technique but for being kind to the girls on her team.  We are so proud of you Gracie. Keep smiling :)

Spa Day

Gracie is still on-the-go.  Lauren's slumber party was lots of fun & now she's celebrating Lauren's Birthday at The Spa!!! Lucky girl with lots of  pampering for her this weekend. Enjoy Girls.

Josie's Slumber Party

Gracie has a very busy weekend as tonight she's at a slumber party at her friend Lauren's house.  Josie was feeling a little lonely so she had  a slumber party too...WITH MOMMY!!! Of course, Baby & Monkey joined us too.  A fun-filled night snuggling with Josie Boo :)

Friends & Facials

Tonight Graicie had a slumber party with her friend Grace.   They enjoyed a fun-filled night doing all of their favorite girly things.   They ended their night with facials in order to relax & unwind before bed :)  Sweet dreams & sleep well girls!!!

Poem In Your Pocket Day

April is Poetry month & Gracie's 4th Grade Class spearheaded the Annual Poem In Your Pocket Day at School.  They made posters, read poems over the announcements, handed out poems to parents at carpool & awarded students who had a poem in their pocket in the hallway!!! What a fun & creative way to celebrate Poetry Month.  Gracie search & searched for the perfect poem. I love it :)

It's official...the Rothleutner Patio is now open!!!.  We are enjoying the warm weather & a Cubs Win!!! Bring on SUMMER!!!

Cubs Win

We are all smiles as the Cubs beat Colorado today.  The girls were especially excited as it was their first Cubs game this season & they got to sing Go Cubs Go!!! :) It was a WIN WIN.

Mom Duties Expand Again

Well I'm definitely NOT surprised that my mom duties have expanded once again. Josie now gives me instructions for Baby & Monkey.  With her long list of tasks, I'm not sure there will be time left for me to  do much more while she's at school :)

The girls loved our cabins, especially the bunk beds.  They had a few dance parties & YMCA was a played a few times on repeat.

Camp Tecumseh

We enjoyed a fun-filled trip to Camp Tecumseh with Josie's Brownie Troop. We enjoyed lots of girl bonding time hiking, horseback riding, playing archery & sitting by the bonfire talking & eating smores.  Josie led us around with her headlamp which was definitely needed once it got dark.  I predict that there will be a few more headlamps on our camping trip next year as ours were a hit :) Baby joined us on the trip too & while shopping at the camps General Store Josie fell in love with a baby monkey  & she insisted that baby needed a pet.  Introducing Baby & her new pet Monkey.  Baby & Monkey now hang out together all the time & they both sleep with Josie. I imagine Monkey will be added to my chores while she's at school :)

Brownie Camping Trip

Josie & I are packing tonight as we are leaving early in the morning for an overnight camping trip with her Brownie Troop.  We bought a pink headlamp for her & a yellow headlamp for me.  Headlamps Check Check!!!  Now we can light the way :)
