The Finale

Hooray! Hooray! Hooray, hooray, hooray!
The wolf, he ran away, away, away!

To the three pigs, a cheer we will send.
The Three Piggy Opera is now at it's end!

"I Want A Big Fat Pig To Eat"

He wants a big, fat pig to eat.
He wants a big, fat pig to eat.
He wants a big, fat pig to eat.
Yummy, yummy, yummy, yummy.
Mmmm, mmmm, mmmm, mmm

Josie is pictured singing in her straw house :)

The Straw Piggy's Solo :)

Oh, Mr. Peddler, some straw I'd like to buy,
To build a house about this wide, to build a house this high.
Oh, Mr. Peddler, some straw I'd like to take.
Please put them in my wagon and a house I'll start to make.

She wasn't quite as loud as at home & her piggy ears fell off :) but she is sure cute!!! Way to go Josie...your first play at 4 years old!!! :)

3 Piggy Opera

The 3 Piggy Opera debuted today at St. Clement School.  Josie's class is the first class to perform this familiar story based on the the popular story The 3 Little Pigs.  It was written by a Kindergarten teacher & a music teacher.  The children have been hard at work practicing their lines, songs & actions.  They even helped create & paint the adorable set for the stage.  Josie came home one day covered from head to toe in green paint as she was painting the grass. ( It was even in her hair!!! :) We have been busy practicing at home too as our little Josie has a solo part as the straw pig.  Gracie took on the role of the Big Bad Wolf as Piggy Josie practiced her part.  And she would have been the perfect understudy for Big Bad Wolf Andrew if he wasn't able to be the perform on the big day.  The performance was today & we are still amazed at how wonderful they all performed for 4 & 5 year olds.  Josie's teachers did an amazing job with this fun-fill project.  Our little piggy is pictured above standing next to her straw house as well as in her straw house before the Big Bad Wolf blew it down.  It was an amazing show & we are so proud of our little piggy. And we can't wait to get the DVD of the performance so we can watch it over & over.  Although Gracie & Josie are still performing for us in the basement :)

Happy Half Birthday

Since the girls have summer birthday's, they get to celebrate their birthday at school on their half birthday.  It's a big deal as not only do they get to bring in treats to share with their friends but they get to parade around school with a buddy in honor of their birthday.  The girls half birthday was this week & we have been talking about ideas for treats to bring in for weeks!?!?!  Do we bake something or buy something??? Oh it was such a decision for them. But since their birthday's are in the summer, Gracie really wanted to go with a summer theme & of course, Josie agreed :) So we finally decided that we'd bring in ice cream sandwiches.  What's more fun than bringing in a little bit of summer in the winter :)  So we bought lots & lots of ice cream sandwiches. However, I think if we could have made our own, they would have loved it :) Next up, we went on a shopping spree to the party store to buy summer essentials...sunglasses & leis.   I packaged the goodies up in summer buckets & we walked to school today.   Gracie's class ended up having a summer party & her teacher sent me a thank you along with a picture of the class sporting their sunglasses & leis. And Josie came home with a birthday crown.  Happy Half Birthday Girls!!! :)

The Dance

Our little Cinderella is in the center & back :)

Oh how I wish the blog would let me show more than 30 seconds!!!

Cinderella Ball

It's a tradition at St. Clement that on Valentine's Day the preschooler's have a Cinderella Ball.  The girls dress up as their favorite princess & the boys as their favorite prince or knight.  They learn a special dance & dance with a partner.   Princess Josie danced with Prince Jack to one of mommy's favorite songs from the movie Beauty & The Beast "Tale As Old As Time".  They looked absolutely adorable as they swayed to the music.  Jack even twirled & dipped Josie :)  And when the dance was over Prince Jack presented Princess Josie with a red rose :) She was the only Princess in her class to receive a rose.  He really is her Prince :)  And she got to dance with daddy too!!! :) It was a royal celebration for everyone.

Heart Shaped Pizzas....Yummy!!!

Next up, we made heart-shaped pizzas for dinner.  The girls made theirs & ours too :) And they sure had fun piling on the toppings.  They were absolutely delicious!!!  We "heart" Valentine's Day :)

Valentine's Day Bakers

The girls have been very interested in cooking & baking with me lately.  Gracie REALLY wanted to make something "fancy" for Valentine's Day.  A couple weeks ago, she found the recipe for a heart shaped cake & has been eagerly awaiting for Valentine's Day to arrive so we could make it.  All dressed in their Valentine's Day aprons, my little bakers were ready to bake.  Gracie wanted to follow the recipe exactly so we made a vanilla cake with homemade pink & red frosting.  "Nana Marci's special frosting" as Gracie likes to say.  And the girls certainly enjoyed tasting it as we frosted & decorated the cake.  We had fun making it & eating it too :)

Happy Valentine's Day

From our little sweethearts :)

Valentine's Spa Day

We are getting ready for Valentine's Day this week by doing one of our favorite Valentine's Day traditions...a SPA DAY with Jenny & Taylor.  All "us girls" enjoyed getting our nails & toes painted in the festive colors of pink & red (of course!!!) :)  We also snacked on Valentine's Day treats & fancy drinks....pink lemonade with cherries for the girls & a glass of vino for the mommies. We are now ready & looking good for the big day. We love Valentine's Day!!!

Disney On Ice: Rockin Ever After

Today we took our little princesses to Disney On Ice.  Such a fun outing for 2 little girls that so love the Disney Princesses.  And we saw some of their favorites too...Ariel, Rapunzel, Belle & the latest Merida from the movie Brave.  We sang & danced along to our favorite songs.  To bad we couldn't have ice skated with them too :) And wearing their Ariel t-shirts & leggings was a must too!!!

Wacky, Tacky Dress Day

What better way to end Catholic Schools Week then with a Wacky, Tacky Dress Day.  The girls were beyond excited to go to school in bold & mis-matched colors along with wacky hair.  Gracie brought back some 80's fashion in her ensemble & Josie just kept saying "oohh this looks adorable!!!" And the best part, Gracie came home from school saying that everyone (even her teachers) liked her funky boots & wanted to know where she got them so they could buy a pair too.  I guess sometimes wacky attire can create a new style too :)
