The Posada

Today Josie's class had a Posada Celebration.  The Posada is a Christmas celebration that captures the surprise & suspense of the season.  The word Posada means "inn" or shelter" in spanish. Children dress in white or tan to represent shepards & act out the journey through Bethlehem, going from door to door seeking to find a dry, safe place for Baby Jesus to be born. This is a Christmas Tradition for the preschoolers at St. Clement School.  After they journey through the school knocking on classroom doors & being turned away, the parents surprise them by hosting a party & offering them shelter & food in the cafeteria.  The look on their faces was absolutely precious.  And Papa & Nana were part of the surprise too.  Josie enjoyed the surprise as well as christmas cookies, fruit & hot chocolate.   What a wonderful celebration to capture the true meaning of Christmas. We absolutely love this time of year!!!
